Sunday, September 16 - Proposed One-Time Meeting Time Change!

Please Check the Date - Sunday, September 16!

To the lovely, fun folks who normally attend the 2:30 PM meeting at the Southwest/Green Oaks Weight Watchers location:

We need to beg your indulgence, so we won’t have to cancel the meeting on September 16!

Due to Territory-wide staff training that afternoon, we would like to propose an alternate meeting time of 10:30 am, with a weigh-in time of 10:00.

Please let us know your availability to attend such a meeting, so we can plan appropriately to schedule it or not. You can do this by leaving a note in the Comments section immediately below this post; all you have to do is click on either "No Comments" (if you are the first eager beaver to respond!) or "Comments" to open a window for you to type your response in.

Time is of the essence as far as our ability to make this change in our system, so please check your calendars and try to respond by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 31.

Thank you so much in advance for your willingness to be flexible with us this one time.  We would just hate for you to miss your meeting!  (And we would hate losing our chance to see YOU!)

Looking for an OLD Weight Watchers recipe

Hi, gang!

February is almost over, and we're almost 3 months into the Freestyle era!  Given the expanded list of zero-points foods, a member asked me to send out a request to those of you who (like she and I) have been members since the last Ice Age.

She is looking for a banana bread recipe that used eggs and bread and a few other things.  While hunting for it in the glow of the new zero-points foods, this member realized that her entire folder of recipes from back in the day was nowhere to be found.  So, if you remember or have a copy of this recipe and wouldn't mind sharing it, please comment in the box at the end of this post so we can hook up and make it available to everyone...

Thank you very much in advance, and have a great week!

It's Finally Here - Say Hello to Freestyle!

You've been hearing and reading the stories out of the U.K. and on Facebook pages - now it's YOUR turn to experience Freestyle, the latest innovation from Weight Watchers for you, its members!

I know you're probably asking - why do we need an update to what has been WW's most flexible and effective Program ever?  Why fix it if it isn't broken?  There are a couple of parts to this answer:

  • To ensure that we always provide you with the most up-to-date and best nutritional information, so you can be sure that your Program is keeping pace with the latest food science.
  • To be responsive to the feedback and excellent ideas we receive from you, the membership.
Be sure to attend your meeting this week so that you will be in a position to ask your questions and get them answered, and to discuss the way you will approach this SmartPoints upgrade with your fellow members.  To get you started, below you will find the Complete List of Zero-Points Foods (in jpeg format, in case you would like to print it), along with links to PDF files in the Cloud that answer Frequently Asked Questions and provide conversion SmartPoints values for all the Beyond the Scale cookbooks.

I hope you will find this new approach to your continuing success exhilarating and re-energizing as we near the end of the year.  I can tell you from personal experience - when you put Freestyle to work for you, it REALLY works!

I look forward to seeing all of you this week!

Time to Get Your Gobble On!

Greetings and Felicitations of the Season!

It's that time again, gang - time for the Thanksgiving Poultry Parade!  If you've never been a part of this Thanksgiving tradition, this could be your year...

Here's the scoop: We will rally at or about 7:30 Thanksgiving morning at Cross Timbers Park, located at 7401 Starnes Road in North Richland Hills.  Please meet us at the Douglas Lane entrance to the park (between Bursey and Starnes Roads).   We shouldn't be hard to find; just look for the folks in the turkey leggings!

We will promenade for approximately 2 laid-back miles around the park for a perfect start to your day with family and friends.  As always, the Parade is canine-friendly if your canine is friendly!

Should inclement weather interpose itself, please check back here on the blog for any pertinent updates to the Parade.
