Those of you who attend the meeting in Hurst on Thursday evenings at 5:45 know Robby Cross and his amazing, inspiring journey back to his previous Lifetime goal weight, But I wanted to share his victory with the rest of my Tarrant County members.
Robby started back with Weight Watchers for his third incarnation 52 weeks ago, approximately 6 months before we made the switch from Points Plus to Beyond the Scale. He came back with a "Can-Do" attitude and an open mind, and simply took off running with the Program. In that 52-week time frame he dived into the Program, he started incorporating foods and activities into his life that he would never have considered prior to re-joining, and he lived his life to the absolute fullest!
One of the many non-scale victories Robby experienced was utilizing his newly-rekindled self-confidence to apply for, and receive, a promotion at his job. He has told stories in the meeting of co-workers who have been inspired by his laser-beam focus and success to either join Weight Watchers themselves or get on board with his daily walks at work. His doctor has abandoned the idea of having to diagnose Robby as a diabetic, and anticipates taking him off blood pressure medication before the end of the year.
The other members of this meeting look on Robby as a role model and as the meeting's "poster boy." His open, sharing personality has been the source of optimism and renewed dedication for all who have had the good fortune to be in a meeting with him. We are all proud of him beyond words, and look forward to continuing to interacting with him on Thursday evening; he has assured us that he is committed to staying with meetings to ensure the maintenance of his Lifetime status.
You go, Robby - We salute you and your awe-inspiring success!
