It's Almost Opera Season!

Some of you are aware of my double life as an opera singer in The Dallas Opera Chorus.  For those of you who weren't, welcome to the avocation that fills out my life when I'm away from you in our meetings!

If you've never experienced this particular art form, it has evolved into a very user-friendly, not-snooty-at-all, FUN evening out.  It has everything: humor, drama, dance, music and PASSION - what's not to like?  And these days you don't need to be a linguist or a music professional to appreciate all the spectacle; whether in the theater or at an outdoor simulcast (hint: see below!), opera in the 21st century comes complete with "supertitles" projected above the stage or onto the bottom of the screen.  Instant, no-stress enjoyment!

If you would like to give opera a try in a relaxed, non-traditional setting, have I got a deal for you!  TDO is presenting a free simulcast of Verdi's glorious and tragic La traviata at Klyde Warren Park on the evening of Friday, October 27.  Here is a link that will take you to the company's website page that is devoted to the details of the evening's festivities:

So why not open yourself up to something new, vibrant and entertaining?  After all, isn't that what we do as Weight Watchers - try new things?

Here's hoping we'll be seeing you in Klyde Warren Park on October 27 - and, of course, at LOTS of meetings between now and then!
