Mission Impossible?

Hey, WW troops!  If you've been in my meetings over the past month or so (or in years past at this season), then you know the challenge that I always throw out to members about how they want to emerge from the Holidays from a Program standpoint.

Just in case you HAVEN'T any idea what I'm talking about, here it is: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make a contract with yourself about the outcome you want to experience when you wake up on Monday, January 1, 2018.  Meeting members have discussed the benefits of making this type of commitment and are in agreement: having a SMART goal for yourself vis-a-vis the manifold temptations inherent in the Food Fest that we call the final quarter of the calendar year is the best way to make that goal a reality!

Remember SMART goals?  They meet the following 5 criteria:  they are:
  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Attainable
  • Reasonable
  • Time-bound
So what should be the objective of your contract?  To give yourself the option to work the Program during this time so that you achieve your 2017 Holiday goal.  And what should that goal be?  Well, as with everything in your WW program, there are options - it's totally your choice!
  • I want (and intend) to lose weight during the Holidays!
  • I want to maintain the success I have already achieved during the course of the year.
  • I want to give myself permission to gain X number of pounds (where "X" is [hopefully] a single digit!) during the Holidays - I'll call it Elf Fat, and I'll send it back to the North Pole one the first Polar Express out of town!
  • I won't make a contract, hope to "do well", and just see what happens.
So, are you up for the challenge?  Show your Holiday SMARTs by drawing up your contract, and by sharing your journey with your fellow members in a way that will assist in your success.  Keep up your meeting attendance, even when it would be easy to let the other commitments and emotions of the season convince you that you don't have time.  After all, whose meeting is it?  YOURS!
